In his earlier days, Paul persecuted Christians by arresting and even killing them (Acts 9:1). But after Jesus transformed him, Paul became a Christian and set out to serve God by telling others about Jesus. Paul knew from his violent and evil past that he deserved no mercy from God. In remembering those times, Paul was open and transparent and didn’t make excuses but rather drew humility from it (1 Tim. 1:12-14). Excuses enable pride, ownership enables progress!Paul was willing to have an honest look at his past to let others know what he had been saved from. People who have been saved the ‘most’ appreciate the Savior the greatest(Luke 7:47).
